How Game of Thrones Could Have Ended: 5 Possible Scenarios

Game of ThronesPin

The author of Game of Thrones is a genius, no doubt, and he has an amazing gift of foreshadowing. Anne Groell is a wonderful woman who has edited his books.

Anne said in 2014 that she had realised the author’s threefold revelation strategy, which she had seen many times.

The first part of the plan is to leave a subtle hint for the focused readers, then follow it up later by dropping a more blatant hint for the less attentive readers, and finally, spell it out for everyone to easily understand.

If Anne’s information is anything to go by, then we can easily say that the author has already given us some signs of the ending of this beautiful series.

As you read further, we will examine all the possible endings for the Game of Thrones based on the clues we have been given so far.

1. The ‘Wizard of Oz’ Ending

The Wizard of Oz ending is one of the most popular theories. This theory would mean that Bran was still in a coma all along, and he had only been dreaming about everything that had happened so far.

Bran incorporates all of the characters featured in the series into the stories that old Nan told him.

This may be very possible because Old Nan has already foreshadowed a lot, like the ice dragon and the night king.

However, as interesting as it is also very unlikely that he would choose that everything was a dream in the ending.

2. The Tyrion and Sansa Ending

Another possible ending for the Game of Thrones is that Tyrone and Sansa will rule Westeros together.

I understand that this may sound very odd, but so many signs have foreshadowed this happening.

One possible reason is that when Sansa was mentioned, it was said that “she was stark of Winterfell, a noble lady, and someday she would be queen.”

If you can also clearly remember the first time Tyrion Lannister appeared in the book, it was said: “When you open the door, the light from within during his shadow clears across the yard, and for just a moment, Tyrion Lannister stands tall as a king.”

3. The ‘bran’ Ending

It would be a very interesting ending if Bran had planned everything that has happened so far in the book.

Some of the major things, such as his influence on the mad king, his role as the night king, and his construction of the wall, have strong supporting evidence in the books.

So far, many people doubt that this is a possible ending because the movie has not shown any sign of foreshadowing.

However, the book foreshadows this as a possible ending, so we just have to cross our fingers and see what happens.

While you wait, remember this from the book: “Thousands and thousands of years ago, Brandon, the builder, had raised Winterfell, and some said the world brand-new the story, but it had never been his favorite.

Maybe one of the other Brandons liked that story. Sometimes, Nan would talk to him as if he were her Brandon, the baby she had lost all those many years ago, and sometimes, she confused him with his uncle Brandon, who was killed by the mad king before Bran was even born.

She had lived so long; her mother had once told him that all the Brandon stacks had become one person in her head.

4. The ‘LOTR’ Ending

Many people believe there are many similarities between The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones, and some even believe that both stories share the same world.

George Martin is a crazy fan of LOTR, and a lot of us can already notice the influence.

Do you know which series this quote is from: “Over the land, there lies a long shadow, Westworld-reaching wings of darkness.” The tower trembles as the tomb of the king’s doom approaches.

The Dead awaken, for the hour comes for the oathbreakers: at the Stone of Erech, they shall stand again and hear a horn in the hills ringing. Whose shall the horn be?

Who shall call them from the grey twilight, the forgotten people? The heir of him to whom the oath they swore. From the north shall he come to need shall drive him he shall pass the door to the path of the dead.

This is no doubt a very difficult guest for you, but the quote is from ‘LOTR.’ However, it could pass for both. Could it be that the dead Starks will resurrect?

5. The “Prince That Was Promised” Ending

The final theory we will discuss is that of the promised prince. This may seem like a self-explanatory one, but what if it isn’t as obvious as we think it is?

There is a chance that this may mean a prince who actually made a promise. Remember when Ned Stark promised his sister Ayanna he would care for her child?

These are the five possible endings for your loved Game of Thrones. However, there is also a chance that none of these suspected endings will be actual, so all we can do is sit back, relax, and let things unfold.

We hope you enjoyed this and are very interested in your suggestions and opinions. Do you think any of these five possible endings would happen, or do you have a different suspicion?
